Kicking the butt

The cigarette perched between his index finger and middle finger was getting warmer and warmer. His right hand aided him to take one final puff, while his left hand instinctively reached for the pack of cigarettes in his pocket.

Getting into an addiction and coming out of it must be the greatest test of willpower, he thought, Never again!

He slowly walked to the edge of the deck of his sixty foot yacht and threw his still unfinished pack of cigarettes into the clear blue water, as he kicked the butt for the 49th time.

For the daily prompt: Never Again

Get a time machine, think like the old you and be fearless!

I would like to start by asking you a question. Think about this:

What if there was a time machine that can take you five or ten years back in time, with the amazing ability that you will be younger as you were at that period of time? Also, you get to keep all your memories and your knowledge that you have right now!

Now I have to ask you…

Will you still be scared to get on a stage in front of thirty ten year olds? Continue reading “Get a time machine, think like the old you and be fearless!”

Why the heck do I blog?

I find myself looking at my blog’s likes and views at least once a day. Even on the days I don’t post anything. I don’t know why, but this feels too much like checking Facebook for likes.

It’s only been a month since I started blogging. Not to mention, I blog anonymously and nobody in this world knows that I even have a blog.

Why? Because I haven’t told anyone. Continue reading “Why the heck do I blog?”

Fix the bugs in your life

Fix the bugs in your life

Have you got problems in your life? Everybody has some. These problems are just like “bugs” – in the software that we call life. Some of them have higher priority and have to be “fixed” immediately. Some of them like depression or social anxiety are of higher severity; they can crash your life software or make it really really slow or painful. Continue reading “Fix the bugs in your life”

Everything will be all right in the end… if it’s not all right then it’s not yet the end. – The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel

She stood on the terrace of the fifty-five storeyed skyscraper looking at the city which looked colorless and lifeless to her. The sun had begun to set behind the dark clouds that had enveloped the city. The usual yellowish orange evening sky was nowhere to be found. In its place, a grey horizon. The cold winter wind hit her face mercilessly as if trying to freeze the tears that rolled down her cheeks.

She didn’t notice the first few drops of rain that fell on her, for she was numb. A sudden downpour followed. Her body ached with so much pain and sorrow that she felt it tiring to even stand. Her subconscious made a decision that was as sudden as the downpour and she didn’t notice it either. “There is no hope”, she thought in her mind as she stepped over the terrace with her eyes closed. Heard it somewhere… Part 2

“Books – one of the greatest inventions of mankind. Reading and writing is what really differentiates us from other species. Without books to let us pass down existing knowledge, we will still be trying to figure out rudimentary things like fire or reinventing the wheel.”
– some TV show

“My highschool English teacher had borrowed my copy of Gone with the wind. When I asked her to return it, she said it was gone with the wind.”
– my highschool English teacher said to me once.

“Has anyone ever told you before? That you are an asshole?”
– during a heated conversation at my college, between two friends.

“The first thing that I learnt in college is, you are not here to please everybody”
– said by a college friend.

“Why are you torturing you mom on the phone?”
– my college room mate shouted at me after overhearing yet another heated conversation between me and my mom.

Heard it somewhere… Part 1

“If phones can actually interfere with an airplane in any way, do you think they would allow people to carry it inside a plane?”
– heard it in some tv show.

“Humans are odd. They think order and chaos are somehow opposites…”
– Vision from Avengers: Age of Ultron
Scientifically, everything in universe, goes from order to disorder. So, what we consider as reality – this universe, this earth, you and me are all products of chaos that happened after the big bang. There is no order!

“When a girl tells you that she is in love with you, you know you are on the right path in your life!”
– said by my smitten college room mate.
